About Alison Harris
Alison is a qualified, professional Counsellor and Hypnotherapist. Her qualifications are:
- Advanced Professional Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy (Ad Dip CP)
- Diploma in Hypnotherapy with Counselling Skills (Dip Hyp CS)
- Advance Certificate in Neuro Linguistic Programming (Ad Cert NLP)
- She is an Accredited Member of the National Counselling Society MNCS (ACC)
- Alison is a Professional Member of the National Hypnotherapy Society (MHS)
- She is also an Associate Member of the BACP
- Alison is bound by the codes of ethics of these professional bodies
In addition, Alison’s ongoing professional training includes: Understanding Sexual Abuse, Anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Working Systemically across Difference and Disability, Using & teaching MINDFULNESS. Alison’s professional Hypnotherapy training adds another dimension to her skills, in particular around the areas of Stress, Anxiety and Self Defeating Behaviour.
As well as offering services in the Herne Bay area, Alison currently works part time as a Counsellor for a counselling Charity in East Kent, often helping people referred by their GP or Mental Health Team. She has over 20 years’ experience working with victims of serious crime and also previously trained to work with people affected by crime and support people bereaved by sudden death.
Alison is also listed on the AVR (Accredited Voluntary Register) which is approved by the Professional Standards Agency, NHS England and the Department of Health. Choosing a practitioner from this list gives the client confidence in the training and professionalism of the therapist.
